About Candace
Hi! Thanks for stopping by. I hope you love what you see. My name is Candace, I was born and raised in a beautiful Colorado mountain town called Durango, and still reside here today. I specialize in local, and destination wedding and portrait photography.

Going into LINK I already had an idea of how to take photos on a camera and I had a very good idea of how to sew clothes. I also came into this with lightroom experience and was willing to help with whatever was needed. For example, I had already made a dress for a photo shoot that we did over LINK. What I did learn is that photographers use a manual setting for pictures and change their settings all the time during a shoot. I learned this during the multiple shoots that I went to. This involves mainly changing the ISO to fit the lighting. I also learned how to make a red carpet feeling dress (lots of hand sewing) and even though I taught myself and learned through the process of making it this was still a valuable experience and I learned that some stitches are better for certain situations.

At one photoshoot I went to for the Sparrow located in downtown Durango it was extremely windy and it gave me an idea of how shoots can go wrong. I helped with things not falling over, helping the models change, and many things that an assistant would do. It helped me get an idea of what an assistant position would look like.

This was a very valuable experience for many reasons but mainly because it gave me an idea of how being an adult in this industry is. It made me more confident in my decision to go into the fashion industry. I think this was one of the most valuable experiences that I have had in my life. I got so much more out of this than just experience though. I now have a lot of pictures to put into my portfolio and it pushed me out of my comfort zone in the best possible way.
