POL Reflection
What Worked Well
Having my evidence on my DP helped me because it kept me organized and it was easy to show and present my work. When doing my presentation it was easy to find the things that I was talking about and it kept me on track when I got lost. I could just look at the board to help me remember what I was talking about. Another thing that helped me was the notecard aspect of POLs. When presenting my work I would look down and have a little outline of what I was supposed to be talking about.
What Didn’t Work
At first, my Presentation of Learning was twelve minutes long. The cutoff is eight. So after my practice presentation, I shortened it down so that it was within the time frame. I also think that going first would have been better because when I wait for a longer period of time when something is coming up. Then I don’t present as well. This I didn’t have any control over but I could practice more for things like this and then I could get better at it.
Smart Goal
The smart goal that set I for myself was to advocate for myself or a friend three times a week so that I can get better at advocating for myself since that is one of the things that I proposed as an area of growth. This will be in my core classes, Biology, Math, and Humanities. So far I have not done anything to complete this goal but it is also just the first day back. By the end of the 3rd semester, I hope to have completed my goal.
